Training Day

Filed under: Editorial — newmediapaper @ 2:51 pm

What would life be with out training? Perhaps a little more sweet if not for the normal food fare from campus catering. Who honestly thought awarding a monopoly food contract would be best for the campus?

Training is interesting this year. Better than last year for sure, and full of “new media” info. We had a good local “industry leader” who is on to this new media thing and has some good ideas. The ironic part was how some of this leader’s staff came in later and pretty much countered most of what their boss had said.

Sad to see some of these people not getting the change to their own industry. You might think these are old farts from an age long ago. While some may have graduated college in the 1930s or 40s, others were from the 90′s and even 2001. How can you NOT get the change in media?

Our staff seems to get it and understand the changes taking place. So much so even some of the doubters are starting to turn. One of our design staff was rather skeptical, almost felt like we were taking bets if he would stay for the entire training. Was surprised when he left late for his other J O B. Guess something stuck!
